In a blink of an eye, the you who was yesterday can be totally different from the you, who is today or will it be in the following days or years. The rampant waves of people you meet and struggle to mingle with truces the change. Their ways you suggestively approve or beyond disagrees makes the change. The impressions they give, the impressions you give borders the relationship you build or about to build. However, the end of all this comes from how you have, decides your actions will be upon them. The greater their personalities undermines yours, you subdue yourself. In turn, you build in grudges and you build in forays that you have in with you cause this was how you handled conversations. You were timbered with the idea of showing good impression, through and through that white lies becomes your great excuse.

You have been totally troubled…

Behind The Midnight Moon

Soumya Chakraborty's avatarThe Blog

halo

You gaze at the moon till it fades out into its own halo that expands beyond the edge of your eyes, and then you see my face, ever so slowly emerging from behind the midnight moon; my lips curved into a perpetual smile, my eyes looking straight into yours. And even from this distance, we know how we are not far from each other. Because I see, you haven’t breathed for a while. You sit there, holding your breath, your chest inflated, eyes dilated, and you are scared.

You are scared because you know who I am. Don’t you?

Write to me, sharing whatever your mind pictured on having read this piece. If it hasn’t made any sense to you, please do write that too. This is a small experiment.

~ Soumya

She was not a poet

No one told her she was supposed to taste the lyrics first
That her brain was supposed to decipher the intent of melody
before it escaped her mouth
That her taste buds were supposed to burst forth
before she spit them out
She had no aspiration that we should admire
Never attended a poet’s university
Or danced between the poetic techniques they said would enhance the skill
Did not feel the irony of brilliantly untalented brush upon her skin
Did not notice the personification walk away with simile and metaphor
Did not know what all these terms were for
For
She was not
A
Poet.
Did not understand Dickinson’s Train
Why it lapped the miles,
And licked the valleys up,
And stopped to feed itself at tanks
Or why frost stood still and stopped the sound of feet
No one warned her that imagination was supposed to pass on information

One Lovely Blog Award

I have been nominated for the “One Lovely Blog” award. Thanks to “The Black Hat Writer” for the nomination.

A little late at getting all these nominations out, my apologies.  I am quite honored that people do parooz my blog and hopefully enjoy it as much as I love keeping it up.  I understand that I am to list seven facts about me and then nominate fifteen blogs, so here we go…

SEVEN FACTS ABOUT ME:

1.     I love movies.  The mystery, horror, suspense, drama, Lifetime nutty movies, supernatural, a few of my favorites are Jennifer 8, Misery, Silent Fall, The Two Mr. Kissels, Jaws, The Dark Half, Amityville Horror, Friday The 13th…  These are just a few that I love, the list can go on and on.

2.     I started my first job at Glinsky’s Drug Store in Honesdale, PA at the age of 14.  I worked there all through high school.  My nickname at work was jugs because of my voluptuous chest.  The owner seemed to be biased to big chested women.

3.     My mother lived through domestic violence throughout my entire childhood.  I smile all the time because growing up my dad sometimes would drop me off at school and I would ask him “Are you going to kill mom today?” and his reply No!  Then I had to walk in school with a smile.  So my smile is how I got through my entire life.  A lot lies behind my smile.  On a positive note my father went to rehab and mental health, better late than never, and is right now, on the correct medicines and is wonderful to my mom whom he is still married to.  He never abused me but I lived through that my entire childhood.

4.     I joined the United States Air Force in 1992 at the age of 17.  My parents had to sign a waiver for me to join.  That is where I went to basic training and then became a Medical Laboratory Technician compliments of the USAF.  I served until 2001.

5.     I was married to my first husband for 17 years until he passed away, June 29, 2012, from Cardiomyopathy at the age of 39.  We have four children together.  All boys.  Trayveon, Daveon, Shaun, and Noel.  I was a widow at 37.  The plus to this was I seem to deal with death much easier now as opposed to before my loss.  A hard heart.

6.     Two and half years to the date December 29, 2014 my first love flew into Arizona from West Virginia after reconnecting on Facebook, after talking for three months online, never on the phone and he took a chance on me, booked his plane ticket.  We reconnected like we never skipped a day from the first time we met which was February 14, 1996 a long time!  We were married on January 8, 2015.  I love Michael Wriston with all my heart and he taught me that it was okay to fall in love again and be happy again.

7.      I own two geese names Niles and Daphne from Frasier.  Frasier happens to be our family show all time favorite all my sons love Frasier.

I thought it would be hard to bust out seven facts about myself but it was rather easy, yikes!

That One Time That I Was Told I Should Have Been Aborted

Katy's avatarStereotypically Able

It is no secret that having a child with a disability can be difficult and hard to deal with at times. I can only imagine what my parents thought process was when the doctors told them that there was a huge possibility that I may have cerebral palsy. I am sure they were scared shitless, nervous, and probably had no idea what the hell they were getting themselves into. With that being said though, they loved me and knew that they would do anything to help me live the most normal life possible.

There have been times though that people have not understood why my parents made the choice they did and not choose abortion or adoption. I remember a specific time where my mom ended up having a conversation with someone who we know about this. Now, before I continue on with my story, I just want to say…

The Beginning of My Musical Journey

Katy's avatarStereotypically Able

Everybody has dreams and aspirations in life. Some people may want to become a doctor, or scientist, or a teacher. Some people may even want to become an actor, Broadway star, or musician. I thought today, I would talk a little about my dreams and aspirations for my life and talk about how important music has been to my life.

For as long as I can remember, music has been that special thing in my life that was always there. There is a song out there for every situation and emotion that comes with it. Because of this, I have known since middle school that I have always wanted to work in something with music, I just wasn’t sure what exactly. I took band and choir in middle school, but band was short-lived. Choir was the one that stuck for me through all my middle school days and most of…

Happy Anniversary to Me!

Katy's avatarStereotypically Able

Today marks the one-year anniversary that I have been living and pursuing my dreams of working in the Music Industry here in Hollywood, or Hollyweird as I like to call it. And honestly, looking back, so much has happened, but it all seems to have flown by in super speed.

Hollywood is a crazy place. It is also a VERY hard place to live in at times. It WILL force you to grow up and mature fast. You have to get used to being on the go at least 99.9% of the time. Believe me, being a girl who grew up in Oregon for 26 years, this was a huge adjustment for me, but I honestly would not change it for the world.

In just the last year alone, I have learned so much about myself. When I look back on the last year, I think the biggest thing that…

Poetically Un-Normal

Michael33's avatarThe Vision of Poets

The Mushroom

Poetically Un-normal
    By the un-normal poet

I’m standing before a blank page
Blank mind looking back from the stage
The stage replete with pretenders
Pretenders not far from a rage

The fire escape dripping in rain
Still dripping on links from the chains
Chains that have bound all that’s tender
While tenderness searches in vain

If time could stand still within space
Within all the truth that’s displaced
Displacing the love in surrender
Surrendering lines on my face

If I could pen words in the clay
Some words from a poet’s café
Poetry rhymed to remember
Remembering dawns when you stayed

Michael 33
