The Here and Now

My mind is gone

Gone thinkin of tomorrow

So what does that

Make of today?

Did it happen?

Do I exist right now,

If I am in the future?

But what if I don’t

Make it to tomorrow?

Then tomorrow

I will just become a

Forgotten fragment of today

For how can I be

In two places at once?

Mind in tomorrow

Body here now

I cannot

I will just cease

To exist

And if I die

My ripple in life’s river

Will go back to the waves
