This article is a great start for those veterans who have never attempted to request a disability compensation from the V.A.  It allows the veteran to get a very brief introduction into what will be like to apply for their compensation.  This article has enough information that it will help the veteran to form other questions about programs they may not even know they are eligible for or that the V.A. even offered.

I also like that it gives you a breakdown of what will cause someone to be ineligible for their benefits.  It is very rare that I have seen it happen, but it does happen.   I actually learned that there are different levels of service connected disabilities.  There is more to the application process that just filling out some paper work.  It takes a lot of time and dedication and most of all patience to maneuver…
