Mystery in Bloom

For those following the Archives, you may recall that last week I was watching the mystery buds of the Plumeria tree. These are the first, since the Bohemian and I planted it a year ago, and our family has been curious to see the color of the blooms.

It’s the first and only tree we’ve planted at our abode, so far. And being that its roots are surrounded by the remnants of the leis we wore at our wedding, it has a special significance to us.

We’ve been excited to see the budding, and eagerly observing the unfoldment of the flowers as they reveal their hue.

And now here they are, full bloom.

One-Four Challenge: June Week One – Boathouse and Bridge

Its now June and so time for a new image for Robyn’s One-Four Challenge.

Week One Edit Week One Edit

For this first week I wanted to keep the edit quite simple. I cropped it and used the clone tool to remove the remaining branches in the top right corner. I then used the levels adjustment tool to boost the shadows and highlights, added a warming filter and increased the saturation a little  to make the autumnal colours pop.

All edits were done using Photoshop Elements 13.

This month’s picture was taken in Hartsholme Country Park in Lincoln (UK) last November during Photography 101. I used shots of the front of the boathouse for the architecture theme but this one, showing the rear view over the lake, was never used.
