Children like adults remember all the bad. It seems like our memories really tuck away all the bad moments more than the good things. You were too busy working or what have you. You told them to go away when the had a question that mattered to them, wanted to tell you about their day, had a problem that they needed your help with, instead of flipping on them they needed you to teach them how to cope with life, etc… the list goes on and on. Children are smaller than us, but they have real issues and problems and feelings just like we do. You make think that they are petty and don’t matter, but you’re dead wrong they matter. If they can’t rely on mom and dad who can they rely on really? Pray with them, love them, guide them. You won’t have them forever…

That’s the total truth… Yes they understand that their parents have jobs, but the time you lose by not being with your children at home when you want “you time”, they’ll remember… Their childhood would never come back for you to be in it, so use it wisely!

Excellent thoughts. If only more people listened to their children more (and even adults, sometimes.) I always tried to give my students my undivided attention when they came to me with a problem. I like to think I helped them a few of the times. Keep thinking this way.
