Growing Through Growing

Growing

Growing up my Dad worked full time and kept a small farm. We had 5-6 beef cattle, chickens, my three ponies ( when I was younger) then, later my two horses during my teen age years. I wasn’t allowed to help with house work, but I was expected to help with barn work, which at the time I liked to do. Since my Dad had a full time job, barn work started around five am. My Dad always said we need to feed the animals before we feed ourselves. We had many calf’s born over the years as well. At the time I thought watching birthing was gross. We had a garden, and a potato patch. We had so many potatoes that my Dad selflessly gave away potatoes to families in our neighborhood. He’d show up at their door with a bag of potatoes, just like that. My Dad…

Sore, sore, sore

Silke's avatarNot All Who Wander Are Lost

If there would be another word for sore I would use that one instead but sore fits the most.

Two days after Christmas I started with the ‘a little obsessed’ workout from Beachbody and finished that in a 5-day manner which gave me the extra boost to keep going, keep doing what I am doing into and over the new year.  January 1st the better half and I started the year off with a nice 7k run by amazing weather, a feel-good mood all around and to start that Marathon life.
I got about 10 months to have that down without being out of shape, out of breath or anything else.

So the soreness from the first obsessed workout has worn off and these 30 minutes a day are definitely getting easier from here on out; I am able to feel it already. The run though, that is what did…

silke smooth, my day online, working on silke smooth

If you take this picture, minus the bed, that was me ALL>DAY>LONG

First I decided after a long hard think over the weekend that the website I did for my work needs changing. Changing to be better, cleaner, more professional and reflecting us way more than the old one did.
So here I am, for about 75% of my workday working and thinking my butt off to make this happen the way I kind of have it in mind, the way Boss lady will like it, and so everything else is nice and clean for everyone else to read and use. I think I’ve succeeded. If you all are interested in what I am doing, you can find it all HERE.

Then I come home and from all these changes I am not very happy with the pages I have.
Decide to get rid of the one with all the…

When this is over, may we never again take for granted

Add new post

When this is over, may we never again take for granted
A handshake with a stranger
Full shelves at the store
Conversations with neighbors
A crowded theatre
Friday night out
The taste of communion
A routine checkup
The school rush each morning
Coffee with a friend
The stadium roaring
Each deep breath
A boring Tuesday
Life itself.
When this ends,
May we find
That we have become
More like the people
We wanted to be
We were called to be
We hoped to be
And may we stay
That way – better
For each other
Because of the worst.
