I have never liked the word ‘spouse’. It has an unattractive ring to it. And ‘partner’ sounds overly legal to me.

  I wanted to put wife but I was trying to make it go either way. I agree with everything you say on the spouse and partner. Hmmmmm now I am in thought about the title to it.
