Book Rec: The 30 Day Praise Challenge by Becky Harling.

Published August 1st 2013, David C. Cook.

I was going through a hard waiting period, and I asked God to help me know what to do, and I felt him say ‘30 days of Praise.’ Shortly after I was listening to a Christian radio program and the speaker was talking about a 30 day praise challenge they did which really helped them. I them stumbled upon this book – which was on sale – and I was certain I was meant to do this challenge.

Before this book, I really only reserved praise for church. I would thank God every day, but praise was once a week. This book changed my whole attitude to praising God. It really is the key to growing your relationship with Jesus. It helped me to wait better on God’s timing, and to trust Him.

Each day begins with a verse, followed by an invitation…

A Word For Mothers

Mother’s Day can be a time of great joy, and great sorrow. You may be blessed with a child, two or ten. You may have your hands full with little ones, or big ones. Or you may have none, and are sad this Mother’s Day because of it. You may be separated from your child or your own mother due to distance and can’t see them, or the coronavirus may be keeping you apart. Or you are separated from your child or your own mother because of death.

Whether today is a time of great joy or great sorrow, may I urge you to give it to the Lord.

Praise God for your children.

Or lay your sorrow at His feet. God is waiting with open arms ready to comfort you.

Today spend time in His word, pray to Him, and praise Him for who…

Her hope in a hopeless world

iammalicool's avatarThe Unspoken Script

She is staring into the darkness, searching for the light of day, holding on to that flicker of hope, tightening her grip at every turn. it becomes her strength, her every breath she takes, the thought of giving up torments her soul, her body and mind with every painful step she takes forward.

“will I make it?…” “can I survive?” “someone please come for me…I am at my limits, I cannot”

The internal conflicts eating away at her sanity, her voice of reasons slowly leaves her helpless, the flicker of hope became loose, the final step she took was deciding factor, no longer could she move, instead she lean forward, facing the ground, still moving forward.

“let’s call it a day she said…this is my last…” before hitting the ground, a voice, a familiar voice, pierced the silent darkness, finally her sanity has vanished, she smiled

“how cr..cruel” she tries to…

Mentally withdrawn

A rain cloud sits

Above my head

Showering my thoughts gloom

You seem aloof

“what’s wrong?”

Lost in thoughts, tomorrow slowly fades

As my smile gets swallowed by the shadowy mist

My emotion closes its door

a deep awareness of the universe.

Everything is connected, everything communicates
Listen with extra awareness,
The senses acknowledge its presence

Understanding we are a small portion but not a feeble existence.
What are you feeling inside?

If we understood, would the hidden be seen?
Words couldn’t express, feelings couldn’t process
but its presence is evident.

In tune with the universe
My mind went deep
to understand….

Awakening echoes ring loudly
can you hear it?
musical tones, the soul dances
grooving to the universe harmony.

“The Universe is under no obligation to make sense to you.”
