July Wrap Up

3yellowdaisies's avatar3yellowdaisies

I cannot believe how fast July has came and went. I am thankful for all of the things that I have learned throughout this month. I have learnt to always believe in myself, save money, and being comfortable with having less things.

I have recently quit my full time job to pursue a career in blogging. That was a huge leap of faith for me. I have never quit a job without having a steady job lined up. At the same time I felt like it was best for me to move on. I was at my last time on and off for the past three and half years now. I am so happy to no longer be there anymore. I feel like I was made to be my own boss.

I have working on a budget so we can save more money. I have a long list of goals…

Thankful Thursdays #5

3yellowdaisies's avatar3yellowdaisies

I had an eventful week, so there is a lot to thankful for.

  1. I am thankful because I got to hang out with my cousin on Tuesday. We picked up a box of pizza from a local store, and brought it with us to a nearby park for a picnic. It was a joyous time. It was the first time we had hung out in a really long time since we have been in quarantine and social distancing. And I am also hanging out in her backyard at the moment.
  2. I recently just received my tea order, after what seemed like awhile.
  3. In the tea order, I received tea I haven’t even tried yet. I have received a new traveler mug, because it’s in my favourite colour.
  4. I saw my dentist after having my fixed my chipped tooth, from my car accident, eight months ago.
  5. When my cousin was walking…

May Has Been A Blessing:

1) I turned 22: It has been a couple of days since my birthday and I still can’t brush off the banana sized grin. As if one whole post about it wasn’t enough, …….. Alright, I’m not going to talk about it again, don’t worry.

In case you missed it: A Lockdown Birthday

2) Harry Potter and Pizzas: I had made the jump from the Twlight movies to the Harry Potter fandom about four years ago when I started reading the books. I know this particular detail may not sit well with the rest of the Potterheads but oh well, it is what it is.

I was a Twilight fan once and when that phase rode over, I picked up the Harry Potter books.

Anyone that wants to challenge how big of a fan I really am, I’ve got my house, my wand, my patronus all ready, we…

A Lockdown Birthday

Anya Abraham's avatar

This is 22! I LOVE IT!

Two nights ago, just before I was turning 22, I decided to go sleep before the clock struck 12. I wasn’t feeling great about yet another birthday. I used to hate birthdays. I honestly can’t remember when this ‘bleh-ness’ regarding birthdays started but I wasn’t the happiest birthday girl there was.

Part of it I owe to the fact that I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO BEHAVE when being sung to or wished. I used to dread it. Part of it I owe to the fact that I’m growing older and somehow always have no idea what I’m doing.

Each birthday is a reminder and it gets extremely overwhelming knowing yet another year has passed and I still have a lot of I don’t knows. But that was all until I turned 22. (I have a lot more I don’t knows but I’m letting…

Virajpet, Coorg: A Slice Of Heaven

Anya Abraham's avatar

Have you ever heard of ‘The Scotland Of India’? ‘The Land of Warriors, spices and pretty women’? How about ‘The Coffee Capital of India’?

If you haven’t, you’ve been living under a rock and missing out on one of the finer treasures India boasts.

I’m talking about Kodagu/Coorg.

A little town called Virajpet in the Kodagu district is my native and before I jump to that, here’s a little something about Kodagu as a whole.

Along with the killer views and the scent of coffee berries filling your nostrils when the windows are down or while on your motorbike, this little district cloaked by the Western Ghats, is home to some of the finest coffee produce, the best honey and oranges. Now you know what to take back.

My fellow Indians know of a love for spices that has no bounds and Kodagu is the place for it.

Also adding…

Lost and lonely

Connection cannot be found

Easily with others

Filled with rich angry people

My time is lost

Passed out into

Nothingness and

Trivial procedures

That other finds

So very important

Feeling detached,

Feeling lost

Feeling frustrated

And castrated
