The world has happiness directly proportional to circumstances. Bad circumstances produce depression and sorrow while good circumstances produce joy and peace. That kind of reliance on circumstances is bondage, and it does not have to be the case with us as Christians. Our joy is not dependent on things, but rather on the person of Jesus Christ. He is our peace and joy.

When you are focused on the good things you have in Christ, it is impossible to be depressed!
