I worked the 5 pm to 5 am shift 2 on and 3 off and 3 off and 2 on for a long time and I can definitely relate to this post…

Lol that sounds horrible. Can you sleep during the day like a traditional vampire?

Oh, sleep was hard. Once the light hits my eyes I’m awake so I had to keep my room so dark so I could trick my body into sleeping…

Ick. *sympathetic grimace*
Blackout curtains…have you tried those?

I am not on that shift anymore so I don’t need them now. Although I use those curtains currently and they work wonders.

My kids have them in their rooms & they seem to work, though not to convince them to sleep past dawn. Those munchkins rise with the sun!

I know right! We have six children and now that they are on summer break they are up earlier than when the alarm went off for school. Just crazy what those kiddos do when school is out.

Haha I’m about to find out! Just a little longer until summer break here.
Six kids — now that takes patience. 🤔

Right! A lot of patience at times. They’re having a blast so far and enjoying their time off for sure.

As they should. Children need play to stimulate their growing minds and bodies.

Oh boy. The only thing I enjoyed about my shift like I had in the lab was I saw a lot of interesting cases come in through the emergency room and I could be a lab tech by myself.
