Rape is an unpopular subject. Some people don’t like to approach it; some like to ignore it; some like to imagine any who accuse someone of rape are lying.

That’s what I want to approach in this article. Girls all over the world are accused of lying about being raped, about being sexually harassed. Judges, defendants, lawyers, they may try to accuse the victim of ‘crying rape’. But let me tell you one thing: the girl who cried rape is not as common as you think.

The media publishes exciting stories – stories they think you will read. These stories include and are not limited to; murder, prostitution, abuse to all kinds of people, and, yes, girls who falsely accuse someone of rape.

But the media is not an accurate description of statistics. They will manipulate statistics to twist it in their favour. They could make it seem like more than…

  1. I don’t like the fact that it is so common in the USA! Was raped by my own father as a child. Was told not to tell anyone, because who would believe a person on our church’s board would rape his own kid? Blacked it out of my memory until I met a young man, who would eventually become my husband. He helped me work through my memories at my pace. My mom still is married to the monster!
