The Epitome of Love

Today, I experienced yet another anxiety attack and my first point of call was my dad.

Many usually call their ma’s, due to a mother’s innate reaction to want to protect and console their wounded child, shower them with words of encouragement and all that jazz but my mum is not like that lol – she kind of panics when she sees me, her only daughter in a state. She’s like “omg, man! What’s wrong? Pattern! Do you need money?” and I’ve got to say, it’s hilarious looking at it in hindsight because she really be going off at me when I’m sad cos she can’t fix it. She is so funny but I love her.

My dad, on the other hand, is the comforter. He is the one who knows how to calm me down when I’m going through it. You know, it’s kind of crazy though! My parents…

Feeling unappreciated?

The pain of feeling unappreciated and undervalued. The feeling cuts deeper than you think, some may completely disregard these things because apparently, life goes on. Forgive me for being aware of when I am undervalued and again, forgive me for ensuring that shit doesn’t run no more.

Naturally, you may be a giver and a big-time lover… you’ll find that individuals subconsciously take advantage of you. But where do you draw the line?

This is entirely up to you, but personally, I run off my gut feeling (intuition). If I get an inkling that you are taking advantage of my kindness, you will know about it. However, try to do it in a constructive manner where you speak before blocking. I have a bad habit of ghosting on people who piss me off. I go all quiet and hostile or I block. That is unhealthy, trust me lol

Yesterday was our end of season Awards Banquet. We gave out a whole bunch of trophies to our outstanding swimmers. We gave out 35 awards total. There were 7 awards for each age group, including Most Dedicated, Most Improved, MVP, one each for a boy and for a girl, as well as a Coaches’ Award for each age group. We also had some record breakers that got recognized, as well as one other special Shining Star award.

All the kids and parents were so excited about their awards, as they should be. The kids swam hard all season and did an amazing job.

But I was the one who was blown away. We coaches all got some very special gifts too. We each had a poster board made up with heartfelt thank yous from our swimmers. My swimmers also spoiled me with a bunch of gift cards to various…

ajeanneinthekitchen's avatarA Jeanne in the Kitchen

We got together with our friends Julia and Bruce over the weekend. As you might recall, Julia and I met through the world of blogging and since have become very good friends. We have a lot in common and truly enjoy each other’s company. Julia’s blog is http://retirementrvdream.wordpress.com/. If you haven’t “met” Julia yet, you should stop by and say hi. Julia is a fabulous cook as well and there is always something scrumptious cooking in her kitchen. You will love what’s cooking in Julia’s kitchen too.

We started the day off with some wine tasting and officially introduced Bruce and Julia to our favorite local winery, InVINtionsVideo #17 – INVINtions, A Creative Winery, though they have enjoyed many a bottle of their wines with us at our house already. After wine tasting, we headed back their new “home”. Bruce and Julia have decided to hit the road…

Cheesey-Garlicky Pull-Apart Bread

ajeanneinthekitchen's avatarA Jeanne in the Kitchen

I was inspired to try these delicious looking bread from our very own blogging family member, https://americaoncoffee.blog/. The pictures that were posted on https://americaoncoffee.blog/ looked absolutely irresistible and just scrumptious. So I printed up the recipe and decided to try it that day. And believe it or not, I actually followed the recipe too. Mine was still very good, especially since I love garlic bread, but mine was nothing like the inspirational pictures I saw. This is what happens when I follow recipes. They only turn out well if I do my own thing. It is just the rebel in me, I guess. Oh well. I guess that just means I still need to keep working on it. Oh darn! I’ll have to eat more garlic bread! 🙂

This is how the cheesey-garlic pull apart bread was supposed to look.
