A Mexican Meal

ajeanneinthekitchen's avatarA Jeanne in the Kitchen

If you have been following me for awhile, you have probably already figured out I am more than a bit of rebel, and I like to march to the beat of my own drummer.  I love being unconventional and unpredictable.  With it being Cinco de Mayo and everyone in America celebrating the day with tacos, burritos, fajitas, cervaza fria, margaritas, etc., I chose to celebrate in a different way.   Los Fiestas para Cinco de Mayo   I love all of those foods I just mentioned, and eat them quite often, but I also love to do something different and unexpected as well.  Other than enjoying a nice margarita especial with dinner, I chose to make another Mexican meal for the day.  I guess you could say I chose to honor the day and the Mexican culture in a more subtle way, like it is celebrated in most parts of…

How to Get More

Mike Fisk's avatarMike Fisk & Built with Grace

A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. Proverbs 11:25

Life is full of irony, especially for the Christ follower. Want to be the greatest in the Kingdom? Put everyone before you. Want to be first? Be last. Want to be strong? Be weak. It’s no wonder people are a little confused by our way of life.

Add another irony to the mix. If we are honest with ourselves we all want more. Who of us hasn’t made a statement like this: “If I win the lottery I will…”? Or, “if only I had…”. As a human race it’s natural to measure our success and importance on possessions. One of the biggest reasons our nation is in such financial turmoil is the desire for more. We want more toys so we use plastic to get it. We want more government benefits even though oftentimes those…

Be a Giver of Life

Mike Fisk's avatarMike Fisk & Built with Grace

When people think of generosity, they usually think about money. When you think of a generous person you generally think of someone who is willing to give you financial support. A greedy person is the kind of person who holds onto everything and trusts no one.

But there’s another kind of generosity that’s even more important than financial generosity and that is found in the emotional or spiritual realm.

As a rule, greedy people are unhappy people. Their focus is on themselves. On their possessions, their opinions, and their social standing. They get their identity from themselves.

Generous people are usually content with what they have and who they are. They get their identity and contentment from something outside of themselves.

The same is true in our spiritual lives. When we become self focused in our spiritual lives we only think about our rights and our opinions and our desires…

IT’S ABOUT LOVE

Mike Fisk's avatarMike Fisk & Built with Grace

I’m over six decades old, I lived through the Vietnam war era. I remember the hatred. Remember the violence. I remember the anger and the destruction. Yet, never in all of my life have I seen the level of hatred anger and violence that we see today.

There is no respect for life, there’s no respect for persons belongings, there’s no respect for persons feelings. I think the saddest part is I see no difference between the verbal abuse of those who claim to be Christians in those who claim not to be Christians. It seems like the entire human race, in United States at least, is devouring one another with our judgmental attitudes, our words and violence.

To be honest, that doesn’t surprise me in one sense. The ruler of this world is Satan. He is the great deceiver. His intent is to destroy us. It would seem for…

Idea yhdestä globaalista kielestä

Yelling Rosa's avatarYelling Rosan Blogi

”Esperanton nykyinen nimi syntyi salanimestä Dr. Esperanto (Tri Toivoja), jolla puolanjuutalainen silmälääkäri L. L. Zamenhof julkaisi kielen vuonna 1887 (tästä tarkemmin: Unua Libro)”, https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto .

Happy Valentine’s Day 2021

Yelling Rosa's avatarYelling Rosan Blogi

I have designed the free Valentine’s Card 2021 using free PhotoScape X photo editing software. You can install it to Macintosh and Windows computers.

02 Happy Valentine's Day 2021

The next card below you can use even in the year 2022 and after that.

01 Happy Valentine's Day 2021

If you like this design you can get something like it by following these steps:

01 Valentine 2021

I have used the Bodoni MT Black font with the multicolored outline. You get it by clicking the icon where are many colors. The picture is 800 pixels in weight and 1000 pixels in height. After that, I clicked the Transform button when the Transform dialog box opened (see the image below).

02 Valentine 2021

In the Transform Dialog box, I selected the values which you see in the picture.

I have designed the next free card using PhotoScape X as well. I write the message in Interlingua, an artificial language. It means: “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

Kulttuuri-imperialismin vaikeus ja vahingollisuus

Yelling Rosa's avatarYelling Rosan Blogi

Kulttuuri-imperialismi

“Aragvi River” by Jonin Marie Gargoles

joninmariegargoles's avatarAmazon Warrior Blog

The Tetri Aragvi (“White Aragvi”) flows from Gudauri down to the town of Pasanauri, where it is joined by the Shavi Aragvi (“Black Aragvi”), before flowing south to merge with the Mtkvari River by Mtskheta, the Eastern Georgia’s ancient capital city, just north of Tbilisi.

It’s one of the most amazing river I ever seen in my entire life. It feels like two rivers meeting with each other with different direction and color. We can make a metaphor for this river …. “It’s like two rivers meet each other for a reason but are not meant to be together as one”.

I’ve been traveling to different countries around the world but this river really attracts me. You can also do parasailing in this river however we haven’t time to do it during our tour. But if you a time I recommend you to try it. If you love adventure definitely…

“Sometimes we need to feel the Rain” by Jonin Marie Gargoles

joninmariegargoles's avatarAmazon Warrior Blog

You knew from the start it was not good for you emotionally. But you still gave it a chance.

One day you’ll realize everything makes sense and you’ll slowly feel the progress.
In the end, if you let it go you will experience the real essence of love. You will discover who you truly are.

Growth is painful.
Change is painful.
Being stuck in the same place you don’t deserve is more painful.
If you don’t move now, you might regret and miss out some beautiful opportunities ahead.

Stand up even if you stumble.
Dream big even if it feels impossible
Smile more even if your heart is crumpled.
Forgive more even when your heart’s still healing.

Life is a constant change.
Sometimes we need to feel the rain to help us grow and be strong.
Every struggle we are facing is a preparation to our future destination.
