Steps to Reading/Studying the Bible
1) Why are you reading the Bible?
2) Read prayerfully and with humility
3) Pay attention to details
4) What is the context? (how does it fit in with what the author is trying to say?)
5) How does this fit in to history?
6) Read this in light of scritpture as a whole
7) Be aware of genre (poetry, gospel, narrative, etc.)
8) Live it out! (apply the text)
