“Sing these songs, in this way, in this style etc.” has become the Sauls armor of the worship movement. I don’t care if we’re talking about white church, black church, Hispanic church, charismatic, evangelical, fundamental/traditional etc.!

I’m grieved for a generation of the most anointed, powerful and amazing worship leaders the world has ever seen being duped into wearing the “Sauls armor” of another’s sound. Maybe the reason we aren’t slaying giants in our cities is because we were convinced into wearing the SOUND of another and never given the chance to release our own.

David doesn’t slay Goliath if he trusts in the armor offered him by Saul. He had to trust what God had taught him and given him in the secret place (the lonely shepherd field).

When it’s time to really take ground in cities, smash the enemy and bring a praise that builds a throne; another mans ARMOR/SOUND wont do! What if YOU are carrying the sound that sets free your home, your town, your city and your people!?
