When someone takes the stance that they will not listen to anyone but God Himself, they are already deceived and their end shall be worse than their beginning.
God puts wise elders in our path for a reason. When we reject God’s wise counsel through them, we open ourselves up to deception. I learned this the hard way as a young Christian.
There is safety in the counsel of many (Prov. 11:14). Notice the word “many.” That means we should seek more than one perspective, and not just the ones we know will agree with us.
