The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Gang and Habitual Offender’s Strike Team conducted a three-day saturation detail in San Tan Valley.
GHOST did the targeted detail to help with ongoing issues of burglaries, thefts, and drugs being reported in the area. The unit was able to assist patrol in tracking down Brian Michalak, 42, who was recorded on a home video surveillance system stealing a package that was dropped off by a delivery company. Michalak pulled up in a green SUV and walked to the front porch and picked up the package at the front door. Within hours of the incident, GHOST was able to arrest him. He admitted to our deputies to taking the package.
Deputies also conducted a traffic stop and arrested Adam Feick, 43, after finding drugs in the car. Feick was pulled over for a traffic violation. During the investigation, deputies discovered he had two-drug-related felony warrants out of Maricopa County, a suspended license and was driving without insurance. Deputies placed him under arrest and were having his vehicle towed. During inventory of the vehicle, they found 13 Grams Methamphetamine, 20 Oxycontin Pills, 10 Methocarbamol Pills, 2 Promethazine Pills, 2 Carisoprodal Pills, 1 Topiramate Pills, 2 Methylphenidate Pills, 4.5 Unidentifyable Pills, and Marijuana. Deputies also found nearly $3400 in cash in his vehicle. He is now facing multiple charges drug charges.
“I created GHOST for this very reason. They have the flexibility to tackle problem areas anywhere in the county,” said Sheriff Mark Lamb. “They track and arrest some of our most dangerous criminals and the unit is an excellent resource to help patrol units and detectives on active cases.”
During the entire three day operation, GHOST conducted 44 traffic stops and made contact with 71 people. They made eight felony arrests and two DUI arrests.
